So with all of the social media hype between nails and make-up, Essie is a name we hear very often. The colors are beautiful and the nail polish is creamy, but to me it falls short on quality. The first color I tried was Mint Candy Apple. For such a pricey nail polish, I find applying the nail polish labor intensive. As you sweep the color on, it seems that the color closest to the nail bed thins out. I end up having to put 3 coats on before I am satisfied with the overall look. I didn’t use a great top coat, so the color didn’t last more than about 4-5 days before it started chipping. The second color I tried was Fiji. I saw it on an Instagrammer and I fell in love with it, so the hubs purchased it for me. This color came out better. I still needed the 3 coats, but this time, I used my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. The greatest part is that I did my nails, literally, 20 minutes before we went out to dinner and the nails still look fabulous. No chips, grooves, dents, or anything especially considering that I did the driving, and we were at dinner less than hour after applying my top coat.
